Since the first zombie mode in World at War that was released in 2008, Call of Duty fans have always been clamoring for zombie mode in the succeeding installments. Call of Duty: World at War is considered to be the goriest title in the series, this included animations of soldiers burning alive. When developers at Treyarch noticed that those burning soldiers looked like the undead, the zombie mode was born and it’s been there ever since owing to its popularity among fans of the series.
From Black Ops’ JFK, Nixon, and Castro cast to Black Ops III’s Lovecraftian inspired monsters, Zombie mode is here to stay. In Infinite Warfare, the undead infests the reaches of outer space. But if you’re not into zombies in space, we have good news – there’s going to be a new zombie mode for Infinite Warfare.
So what’s in store for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s newest zombie mode? We’ll tell you – lots of 90s nostalgia and a celebrity cameo.
Titled ‘Rave in the Redwoods,’ this is the newest co-op survival mode that will be made available with the DLC map pack, Sabotage. In this zombie survival mode, players find themselves in an abandoned summer camp, and it features everything you liked about 90s zombie flicks.
Kevin Smith, director of 90s hits like Clerks and Chasing Amy, is lending his voice and likeness to help players take on the raver zombies that have taken over the camp. The design of the playable characters also scream 90s chic, and it melds well with the rest of the environment. Aside from adding Smith, the four characters from Infinite Warfare’s original zombie mode are making a comeback together with Willard Wyler, the evil director played by Paul Reubens.
Other cast members of the Rave in the Redwoods include Ike Barinholtz, Sasheer Zamata, Jay Pharaoh, and Seth Green.
Aside from those remarkable talents making a return, Sabotage also offers new maps, Dominion, Neon, Noir, and Renaissance.
Awesome. New maps and a new zombie mode. Get your copy of the Sabotage DLC and make sure you’re playing it on the best gaming laptops from Sager Notebook!
