While other villains in this list might have more character (and physical shape), this villain is the invisible foe that will hamper all your attempts in settling the old west. Do you have enough food? Good. Enough sleep? Still good. But oh no, you have dysentery? Game over man. Random, unavoidable, and hits hard, Dysentery is one bad mofo.
Vaas Montenegro (Far Cry 3)
Vaas Vaas Vaas, where to begin? With his quintessential bad guy smirk, crazy eyes, and desire to torture and enslave, Vaas is the villain you don’t want to mess with. Although playing second fiddle to the equally insane Hoyt Volker, his iconic “Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is?” is a line many players of Far Cry 3 are very unlikely to forget. It epitomizes his madness in such a way, it makes him look all the more fearsome. If crazy SOB is your idea of a bad guy, Vaas is your man.
The Lich King (World of Warcraft)

Throughout your Warcraft experience, one figure looms tall – the Lich King. On his Frozen Throne, he commands the legions of the Scourge. His utter ruthlessness even forces the Alliance and the Horde to unite against him. In World of Warcraft, squaring off against the Lich King is one of the most iconic moments.
Alduin (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim)
Skyrim. A land of ice and snow. Procrastination abounds, as the threat of the World-Eater looms. In the game, you square off against this black behemoth if you manage to focus enough to finish the main questline. Instead of dungeon crawling or doing the sidequests, actually doing the main quest is pretty rewarding since you get to beat a dragon-god, the king of Dragons.
The Joker (Batman Arkham)
It doesn’t matter what medium, the Joker is one of the most bad-ass villains of all-time. Batman Arkham is no exception. With Mark Hamill’s awesome voice acting, he brings life to the Joker’s depravity. The Joker is a must for any Batman game.
GLaDOS (Portal)
GLaDOS or “Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System” is a bitch. Cruel and cold, she’s the villain that will make you destroy yourself, for fun. Locked in a heated battle with a murderous machine definitely makes Portal and Portal 2 interesting.
