Believe it or not, there is a day this month of January called the “Appreciate a Dragon Day” that falls on the 16th. The day encourages us to explore the cultural significance of these powerful mythical creatures. And since its Dragons we’re talking about, what better place there is to get to know about dragons other than the video game world. That’s why for today, we’re going to name some of the most powerful dragons in video games.
Queen of the Blackmarsh from Dragon Age: Origins
According to the legends, The Queen Of The Blackmarsh was once an important and powerful dragon in her lifetime. However, she died, but that was not the end of it. She returned to the land of the living as a spectral dragon. In short, she is a ghost dragon. Another thing that you should be scared of is her lightning bolts and lightning breath. She also summons eight Charged Wisps which you must destroy, so she won’t be able to heal herself.
Guardian of Mythal from Dragon Age: Inquisition
The Guardian of Mythal is a colossal High Dragon that resides in the Arbor Wilds. This fire elemental is known as the protector of the Elven goddess, Mythal. Like all the dragons in Dragon Age, she is immune to cold. But what makes her scarier is that she is also invulnerable to stuns, paralysis, and fear. Aside from her claws and her devastating wing attacks, she can also spit a large fireball to burn you. But it is possible to control her by using the power of the Well.
Black Dragon Kalameet from Dark Souls
The Black Dragon Kalameet is one of the last remaining ancient dragons and was one of the most feared that the Great Lord Gwyn and his brave knights dare not to provoke him. But of course, you must defeat him to honor your services to Artorias. With the Chaos gem embedded between his red eyes, Kalameet was said to be the bringer of calamity.
Deathwing the Destroyer from World of Warcraft
Deathwing the Destroyer was one of the five Dragon Aspects and was formerly known as Neltharion the Earth-Warder. He also happens to be the leader of the black dragon flight. He was empowered by the Titans with dominion over the earth and the deep places of Azeroth. However, he abandoned his title during the War of the Ancients and instead chose to be the Aspect of Death, and became one of the greatest terrors in the world of Warcraft.
Alduin from Skyrim
Alduin is the God of destruction. He was the first dragon the ruled over the men and mer or elves. However, Alduin became arrogant of his powers and saw humanity as a lesser species. However, he was defeated in The Dragon War with an Elder Scroll that sent him forward in time and was said not to return until the beginning of the fourth era. Because of his power, he was associated with Akatosh, and he went along with it, proclaiming himself as the “First-Born of Akatosh.” Want to see his power for yourself? Then download Skyrim on your PC or gaming laptop.
Akatosh from The Elder Scrolls
Akatosh, in my opinion, is the most powerful dragon in the gaming world. He is known as the Dragon God of time and the chief deity of the Nine Divines. According to the legends, he is the first of the Gods to form in the Beginning Place, and many think he is Auri-El, but it was, later on, confirm that after his formation, time began. Akatosh is also the considered as the god-defender of the Empire. He is said to represent the qualities of invincibility, endurance, and everlasting legitimacy.
