Hello Games has just announced that No Man’s Sky is getting a major update. According to the game’s official website, the update is officially called the “Foundation Update” because it will introduce a base building element into the game and “is putting in place a foundation for things to come.”
Other than that, no additional details have been released, but the game’s log page will include detailed patch notes on what the “Foundation Update” is going to do. Hello Games is expected to release this update sometime soon.
The game’s official website also had a post from the developers saying: “Our small team has been hard at work on development, testing and certification for the Foundation Update. It won’t be our biggest update, but it is the start of something.”
The developers also took the time to address the controversy surrounding the game’s initial release. Hello Game’s response reads: “The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic. We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about. Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone.”
“This update will be the first small step in a longer journey. We hope you can join us,”
No Man’s Sky received a ton of backlash from the gamer community and has since been 2016’s biggest letdowns. Hello Games has finally broken its silence with this post, and it’s good to know that they’ve been listening to the reaction of gamers’ reactions to the game, whether good or bad.
When No Man’s Sky was initially released, there was uproar within the gaming community. Some players had harsh criticism of the game, but now we know that the developers have been listening. No Man’s Sky definitely still has the potential to something great, and the “Foundation Update” definitely looks like a definite sign of things to come.
